Our menu is ever changing so it would be impossible to keep it constantly updated here, but we will give you an idea of some local favourites. We use only the best local ingredients so you can be sure of a unique, delicious taste! Thick Cut Ham, Free Range Egg and Chips Locally produced Dragon Sausages served with Red Wine and Onion Gravy New Inn Steak Burger served with Crispy Lettuce, Tomato and Onion in a Sesame Seed Bun with Tomato Relish and Mayonnaise As well as many other dishes we also offer freshly prepared baguette In the bar we have a great selection of leading lagers, wines, real ales, spirits, soft drinks, fruit juices as well as a range of hot drinks made by our state of the art Segafredo Coffee machine. While you're here make sure you try one of our local Welsh ales or even our famous Toffoc toffee vodka! We are on the A40 which is on the main bus route. Take the X43 bus (bay 1), from Greyfriars Road, Cardiff through to the Village of Bwlch.
Do not get off the Bus in Brecon!
From London and the South: Take M4 over Severn Crossing or Bridge to Junction 24 (Newport) then north on A 449 to Raglan where you join the A 40 signed Abergavenny. From Abergavenny follow signs to Brecon (A40). We are located on the A40 Between Crickhowell and Brecon in the village of Bwlch. Beacons Backpackers is situated at the top of the hill on the left hand side.
From Birmingham and the North: Follow M5 south to Junction 8 (M50) then follow M50 west until you pick up the A40 at Ross-on-Wye. Follow A40 past Monmouth to Raglan then follow signs to Abergavenny (A40). From Abergavenny follow signs to Brecon (A40). We are located on the A40 Between Crickhowell and Brecon in the village of Bwlch. Beacons Backpackers is situated at the top of the hill on the left hand side.
From West Wales: Leave M4 at Junction 32 (Cardiff) then take the A470 signposted Merthyr Tydfil. Follow A470 to Brecon, upon reaching the Brecon round-about follow signs to Abergavenny (A40) for about 8 miles. We are located in the small village of Bwlch on the A40. Beacons Backpackers is situated at the top of the hill on the right hand side.

At Beacons Backpackers we understand that a great night's sleep is half of your hostel experience! That's why we're proud to be so fussy about our rooms. Here we have some photos so you can see exactly how good they are! Beacons Backpackers has room for up to 16 people in the heart of the Brecon Beacons National Park. For an affordable extra cost (including linen, tea/coffee and toast) you can stay in Britain's most beautiful National Park. Private rooms are available and packed lunches can be provided. Reasonably priced meals and refreshments are available in the adjoining New Inn Pub. Everything is kept clean, neat and tidy, fresh linen is provided and all there are three bathrooms available for a maximum of fifteen people. We also have our chill-out room available so guests can take a moment to relax, reflect or plan their next move! The chill-out room features sofas, chairs, magazine, a games console, maps, a television and tea/coffee making facilities.
